Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and anyone is welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes - you name it. No two Alphas look the same and during this time of social distancing we will be running Alpha online using Zoom. We will be running for one hour each week for eight weeks. If you would like to join us for our next Alpha course, then fill in the form below and we will message you back with more details.
We will begin with just getting to know each other for about ten minutes and introduce what the focus for the evening will be. We will then watch the Alpha film for that evening.
CAP - Life Skills
CAP - Life Skills is a friendly group that gives people the confidence and decision making skills they need to survive life on a low income. We teach people practical money saving techniques, such as cooking on a budget, living healthily on less, and making your money go further. You are welcome to join our course that meets once a week for eight weeks.
The Hope Course
The HOPE grief support programme at London Riverside Church works in partnership with West & Coe, highly respected Funeral Directors in Barking & Dagenham and the South East, and initiators of this support service.
It runs over six weeks and aims to offer support, guidance and education to those who are going through the grieving process. The course evolved as a response to the distinct lack of grief support, knowledge and understanding of this process being offered by local services to people in the area. Referrals to join the course are received from West & Coe Funeral Directors, local doctors and health centres or by word of mouth from others who have attended the course.
We know that being a parent can be both rewarding and challenging. Our courses are here to support you and help you build a strong and secure relationship with your child, whatever their age.
They include group discussions and practical tasks to help you build on your strengths and will give you time and space to think about any changes you want to make. A helpful, easy-to-read handbook is included with each course.
Our courses are run in community venues and are usually made up of six 2-hour sessions, each led by trained and experienced facilitators.
